Does a few mhZ OC for the CPU make a difference?

Please clear my mind, I keep being desperate about OCING my CPU and I keep hitting the limit yet my question is if a few 0.x matters.

Like for example, I got it to 3.500ghZ stable, if I get it to 3.550 will there be a big difference? Problem is I realized if I go to like 3.560 and do a test it may crash fast, if I play a bit with the ram timings like put em on 6-6-6-18 instead of 6-6-6-15 it may last more.

I had also managed to go to 3.601 or so and had crashed quite fast in OOCT but I then tried to game instead and I went for a long time without crashing, it was Chivalary Medieval warfare on a 50 people server so it's really stressful.

I got ddr2 800mhz running them at 667. So do you think 20-50mhZ and such can make a big difference? Or is it worth it to run it unstable as long as it doesn't crash often at all?

ps: E6500 is my processor. I had also increased all the volts I could.

To clear things up when it comes to overclocking a CPU, there's times when you'll see a framerate difference and times you won't. For example raising your CPU from 3.0 Ghz to 3.4Ghz is gonna be a pretty good boost of about 3 or 4 fps on average but the difference between 3.5 and 3.55 will be no difference at all. You can trust me on that. Find a stable point and stick to it.
