Question Does a Graphics Card which now runs on a PCI Express 2.0 standard slot,will run properly on a PCI Express 4.0 standard slot ?

Hello friends,

My PC components are as follows:

1) Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six-Core Processor 3.50GHz

2) Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-DS3P(https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-970A-DS3P-rev-10#ov)

3) Graphics Card:ZOTAC GEFORCE GT 1030 2GB 64BIT GDDR5

Friends,As usual I have installed my Graphics Card on PCI Express x16 slot, running at x16 (PCIEX16).All PCI Express slots of my motherboard conform to PCI Express 2.0 standard.My Graphics Card is working fine on this slot,since the day of its installation.

Now,my PC is getting old.So I have decided to upgrade some of its components.Two of them are Processor and Motherboard.I have chosen them as follows:

1)Processor:
Intel® Core™ i3-12100 Processor
12M Cache, up to 4.30 GHz

2)Motherboard:
H610M S2H DDR4 (rev. 1.2)
(https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H610M-S2H-DDR4-rev-12#kf)
or

H610M S2H V2 DDR4 (rev. 1.0)
(https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/H610M-S2H-V2-DDR4-rev-10#kf)

Friends,as you can see above 2 Motherboards are same, just different in versions.I will buy which of them is available at the time of purchase.Now both motherboards have PCI Express x16 slot conforms to PCI Express 4.0 standard.

Friends,I want to keep my Graphics Card as it is still working properly.My question is, will my graphics card work properly on a PCI Express x16 slot which conforms to PCI Express 4.0 standard ?Someone please,let me know.

PCI Express is backwards and forwards compatible. The actual PCIe "version" it'll run depends on what is the lower between the card or the slot.
