Pretty self-explained title, I'm just wondering if I purchased an hdmi splitter (my gtx 1060 only has 1 display port) If that would make it so that I could plug two displays into the gtx 1060 port.

Solution
No, not thru one HDMI. If you have a displayport on the card, get a displayport to HDMI cable. Cheap and will do the job for a 2nd monitor if the HDMI is used for the 1st monitor.

Sorry, accidentally downvoted your response! So what you're saying is, I cannot have two monitors through one gpu hdmi port no matter what I do?

Yes you can.
But a "splitter" will just show the exact same display on both monitors. The PC sees a single connection.

If you want 2 different displays (Extended), then you need to plug each monitor into a different port on the GPU.
HDMI, DP, DVI...Choose 2.
