So i just bought the ASUS STRIX model of the gtx 1070 and i started my gaming everything was perfect except a few games didnt run very perfect on 1080p especially watch dogs 2

So i was wondering does my processor i5-2310 bottleneck the card
Should i look for something like an i7 2600k or 3770k?

Witcher 3: 50-60 fps sometimes goin below 50 no vsync all ultra hairworks off
Watch dogs 2 : 25- 50 fps ultra 1080p

Yep, the CPU is holding things up a bit, and if the power supply is as old as the rest of the system IT may also be due for a change as well-exactly what unit is it?
Check the motherboard makers website for a list of supported CPUs, you may be able to find a upgraded part, but you'll obviously need to go used, so proceed with caution.
It's likely the MB will need a BIOS update to be installed before the upgraded CPU is installed.
Don't forget to have some new thermal paste ready.

G4560 2 core 4 thread, good for the 1050TI, and can feed a 1060 but loses frames. An I5 can run a 1060 and can feed a 1080 but loses frames. An I7 is recommended.

An overclocked 3770K if you have a P67, Z68, or Z77 motherboard can get you close to a stock skylake. Make sure the P67 or Z68 has a BIOS update and CPU support before removing the I5. If you don't have the board it is time to get more modern instead of buying two older pieces.
