Question Does a m.2 sata SSD needs to be in QVL of a mobo to be usable?

I currently use Gigabyte ga-a320m-s2h motherboard. I am planning to purchase this 2280 size ssd, Transcend 820S 480GB. This SSD, which is m.2 SATA, is not included in the QVL of the motherboard. But, unlike ram, do I really neeed the SSD to be in QVL, if it fits perfectly?

No it doesnt need to be in the qvl. It should work.

There are other transcend sata m2 listed in their qvl, this will use the same basic drivers as those listed so it will work.
