I have a GeForce GT 220 and I am looking to upgrade it I have a $300 budget, 300w PSU and I am looking at the Radeon HD 6670 as it is the best for my level of power and size. If size doesn't matter than any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

How does it compare price wise?

Does it work with PCI Express x16 Gen 2?

Thank you. Any other cards you would recommend that would work?

frankly, a hd7750 is a huge upgrade from the gt220 and draws less power than the gt220.
I can recommend better cards but that might require you to change your psu so would involve more money and labour. Also I need to know your cpu model and speed to make sure there's no chance for bottlenecks

Intel Core i7 2.67 GHz

in that case, you may upgrade to a 500w psu like this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139027

or a 650w psu to be more future proof http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005

and depending on your budget either a hd7870

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202025

or a hd7950

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202026

or a gtx760

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121775

hd7950 offers you the best value for money and you should opt for a sapphire model like the one that I linked.

And if I don't upgrade the PSU? My not upgrading PSU is that A. I don't want it to take a long time B. I don't want more of a chance of anything going wrong and C. I have no idea how to

upgrading psu is easy and only takes 5-10minutes if you know how to do it. You have to unscrew and unplug your current psu.
Then screw the new one in, plug in 20pin motherboard connector, 4/8 pin cpu connector, all the sata hdd and optical drive power connector, pci express power connector/s and you should be set.

if you don't want to do it, then hd7750 is your best bet

How long would it take having no idea how to? Also what PSU would you recommend The 7750 requires a 400w PSU

Just google a guide or something. It is really easy and in my opinion would be worth it if you are willing to spend up to 300 bucks.

And those are the GPUs that you would recommend after upgrading?

If I can't upgrade the PSU what should I get?

like I said before, 300w psu won't be able to push past a hd7750

hd7750 only draws 43w on maximum load, that means it usually draws even lower under normal gaming load

it also has the BEST performance per watts ratio http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/HD_7750/27.html

Don't worry about the 400w psu recommendation from AMD, that's just for reference and they are sort of assuming you have a hugely overlclocked power hungry cpu with tonnes of sata drives attached to your system so 400w is the absolute maximum power draw. The fact of the matter is, the card only draws 43w maximum so even a 200w psu can handle it.

Because a 300watt power supply is very uncommon, I'd be suspicious of the size of his case. If this is a prebuilt HP, Lenovo, Dell or similar, it may be quite a small case. 300watt power supplies are standard in micro, slimline atx cases which suit half-height cards.

My concern is that a gtx-220 is able to be half height, but a more powerful card may not fit, requiring a full height or more than a single pcie width to fit.

I would ask the OP to give the specifications of his case, or model number of his computer (if it was pre-built) just to make sure that a full height card will fit
