Lets say I want to completly disable Microsoft Defender. Would (for example) BitDefender alone be enough to secure my windows os, for daily uses?
Computer security is ALWAYS about layers. Your router provides a layer. Your AV software provides a layer and finally YOU are the most important layer.Lets say I want to completly disable Microsoft Defender. Would (for example) BitDefender alone be enough to secure my windows os, for daily uses?
You only want one.Lets say I want to completly disable Microsoft Defender. Would (for example) BitDefender alone be enough to secure my windows os, for daily uses?

That is not the question your title asks ...Thanks for reply
I am aware of that! My question was more about wether or not replacing Microsoft defender with BitDefender offers the same amount of Security (Virus+Network+Threat Protection, Firewall, Device Security,..)
I ditched BitDefender when it wouldn't let me access the internal admin page of my router, due to what it thought were outdated credentials. It depends on what said AV software does. AV-Test.org puts Windows Defender already as a top to near-top product (https://www.av-test.org/en/antivirus/home-windows/manufacturer/microsoft/).
I'm not a fan of using third party software, mostly because I can't shake the thought that they're motivated to do things to make it seem like you need their software. Whereas Microsoft's only making sure Windows Defender is good because it protects their primary product.
