Hello,

I have a quick question regarding the Samsung 980 Pro 1TB M.2. Will it fit in my Gigabyte Z370P D3 M2P_32G slot? Below is my motherboard. Here is the manual.

Especially concerned for the bandwith. The manual states something that it shares bandwith with the SATA3.0 connector, but I don't really get what they mean with that.

Currently only using SATA3 slots 1 and 0.

Thanks in advance,
Lars

It does fit and will work in NVMe (PCIe v3 x4) mode but not at full speed because of only PCIe v3.0. 980 needs v4 for full speed.

This means that installing some M2 drives may limit available SATA slots - see manual page 15 table at the bottom. Since only using SATA M2 drives affects SATA ports on this board (and 980 is not a SATA drive) you will not be affected by that.
