[SOLVED] Does a SATA 3 M.2 work in a NVME slot?

I don't know exactly what motherboard i'm going to get but i was considering a ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING. I already have the drive so i cant change it . Anything would help.

There are two M.2 slots on that motherboard. One is SATA only and the other supports NVMe and SATA. If you have a SATA M.2 disk, then using the SATA only port leaves the NVMe compatible port free for future use.

Yeah, downloading the user's manual BEFORE purchase is a smart thing to do. You can answer most questions just by having access to the manual.
