Does a separate Nvidia card is compatible with an AMD graphic onboard motherboard?

Hi to all, i have a motherboard with an AMD 5450 onboard graphic, im just wondering if I attached a separate Nvidia card like EVGA GTX 650 Ti, is it still compatible? Or I rather attached same AMD separate AMD card? Please help....

i see no reason to worry as long as you can disable the on board video card .
