Does a Xeon 1231 V3 have to have gpu to post?

I am assembly new pc and I have bought:
xeon 1231 v3 cpu
mobo is GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3. (open box from newegg)
16 GB's HyperFury 1600
PNY Optima SSD7SC240GOPT-RB 2.5" 240GB
CORSAIR CXM series CX500M 500W ATX12V v2.3 SLI CrossFire
I haven't recieved the gpu yet: MSI 7770 gpu

I assembled what I have, but pc won't post and no video output. Is this because Xeon has no igpu?

make sure your ram is FULLY pressed in

Hello... There is NO onboard CPU/IGT/GPU on the Xeon 1231 V3.
So untill you get your GPU you will not be able to see a screen when connected to your MB video connectors. http://ark.intel.com/products/80910/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E3-1231-v3-8M-Cache-3_40-GHz
