Solution
They are compatible. If you are going with a Z270 motherboard, perhaps get a 7700k to take full use of overclocking but a 7700 is powerful if you want to stick with it.

That is a lot of money to spend on the case that is taking away from your performance money.
It really comes down to I can make it look good or have killer performance.
The 3600 memory will probably not be stable with what you have listed.
A Z270 board makes little since with a non K CPU when you can get a H or B board and do the exact same thing for less money.
For about the same price I would be looking at the i5 8XXX with the true 6 cores;

It's very high speed ram and the memory controller on the cpu might just not be strong enough to support it or the cpu might need an overclock to make it run stable.
You could do a sort of an overclock to that cpu by making all cores run at max turbo,which is possible with the Z270 motherboard,but i can't say if that will make things stable enough.
You would be better of with some cheaper 2666mhz<->3200mhz ram and put the difference in money towards the gpu.

I do support the suggestion of the i5 8xxx cpu+Z370 motherboard.Case is of course up to you,but the remark it takes a big chunk out of your budget is valid.
