Still looking for something to power that Apple LCD, eh!?!

Really, I doubt we'll know for sure until more people review them. Apple support may end up providing a list somewhere, but otherwise you may need to pick through the debris of all the reviews that come out. I have seen NONE that reference dual link DVI. Of course more poeple are simply interested in DUAL DVI.

I'm certain there were supposed to be X800 and GF6800 cards with dual link for those monitors. Even if they are 'apple-specific' I think they will work in PCs, just not vice-versa (thank to some device ID check or something by Apple).

If you do find one, let's us know. I'll post here in this one or in your other thread if I see anything.

BTW, you might want to just e-mail ATI directly, as they mention it in the X850's specs as being 'dual link support'; so e-mail them and explain your situation and see if they know of their own distributors who have expressed interest in implementing that feature/aspect.

Anyway We've discussed Ati's support as well
Tried no one know's anything
I know that the powered by ati wont supposedly maybe one of the 3rd parties might
So far the only cards that support them are the Fx3000, 3400 4000 4400
And the Ati x3-256 and v7100 and the fx2000
All priced $900 and up
Thats what I've dug up

Look what my searches dug up

A mere 9.2 MILLION PIXELS AND A MERE 9 GRAND

Thanks

Yeah, Actually IBM was the first with the QUXGA LCDs. And they brought them out like 2-3 years ago, so take that Apple!

They now appear to be the same Panel though. Here's IBM's version (same price);

Also mentioned when,

On another topic
Will I be able to play games with the apple
Lets say i get a x800xt (that works) watvr yadayadayada
Will I get 25 frames per second plus In HL2???

<A HREF="http://www.freewebs.com/lb19984/" target="_new">My Rig</A>

Unlikely that you will get great frame rates in HL2.

You may have to reduce texture quality.

Realistically I don't even know if these games will support that resolution. I tell you though, if you got it working even at 2 fps you'd have something that alot of people would be interested in finding out.

Just alone that 5 times the number of pixels as 1600x1200. Then add in the issue with frame buffers, etc. This would likely overwhelm a card's memory very quickly.

I'm not really a gamer
But with that kind of a monitor ( if I ever get it)
Who knows whats gonna happen
But you need at least 15fps for something to look decent right
How about a game like vice city or need for speed underground I might get like 15fps right
thanks
