Does anybody make a really simple point-and-shoot digcam?

I want to buy the simplest digital camera they make. I am not concerned about the price; I just don't want to have to stop to think about changing settings each time I use it. I yearn for a digital equivalent to the old Instamatic cameras. Does anybody make a real POINT-and-shoot camera or do they all require selections having to be made before each use? I will be taking photos of pets indoors only in either low light or poor light settings. I have a Kodak EasyShare DX66490 10x optical zoom. I hate it because of the things I have to remember before I shoot. What do you recommend for me to look at?

More expensive Digital PS Cameras often takes better pictures then plain Digital PS due to the technology and features put on the camera. And while it has more features and settings to play with that some people find it intimidating, it also has settings that can be adjusted to FULLY AUTOMATIC where the company preset camera the best possible settings for your subject. But having that extra control on a camera when the preset setting is not good enough is what makes the manual features for fine tuning a plus on any product you buy.

I would suggest the Fujifillm F100fd is the latest and F40fd and F50fd are the earlier models that replaces the F30, F31fd.
For more ease of use the Fujifilm Z100fd may be what are you looking for.

If you found something you like from Canon and other manufacturers, it never hurt to learn more about the camera and it's predecessor.

thank you for all this information. It really helps. I would like to find something that's not necessarily a current model to save on the cost AND because it might likely be less complicated to use, but I don't have a clue about where to find them. I don't want a used camera, and I never see what I am looking for sold online. We don't have a camera store anywhere within a hundred miles, so it's either buy it online or buy it at Walmart! DO you have any ideas about where to buy a past year's camera? Thanks again. SARA

What is your budget? I've read good things about newegg. As mentioned earlier the F50 or F40 is good cameras and if you can find an F30 or F31fd even if it's used as long it comes with decent warranty it is a good buy.

If you're looking for a camera for under $200US the Canon SD1100 IS or the PowerShot A720 IS are not bad.
