Does anyone else think console Crysis 2 looks like Sh!t?

Many Anti-PC gamers say that while PC's are stronger, they are not a generation ahead. So I just downloaded the 1 hour trial of crysis 2 on PS3 to see how it holds up to my gaming PC...

WOW! Crysis 2 looks TERRIBLE on consoles lol. At first I had to pull up crysis 2 on my PC to compare side by side to make sure it looks as bad as I was thinking it does. Yep, Crysis 2 on Ultra is easily a generation ahead of the console version. Not only this, but I started up Killzone 3 to see if all games looked that bad. Well KZ3 looked worse than I remembered by far, but it still looked better than crysis 2 so idk what people are smoking when they say crysis 2 is the best looking game on consoles...


Overall though, anyone who thinks consoles are not way behind PC are just plain wrong.

I can't get you a picture, but I can try to compare it to the PC.

Take the PC version and set:

-1152x648p as resolution

-turn off DX11 and the texture pack

-make everything a little darker

-limit frame rate at 30 with dips to ~27

-Set all settings to medium (The lowest on PC is high but this is my guess).


Yeah and once again Killzone 3 looked quite a bit better (Higher resolution, more enemies, MUCH better water and textures).
Though they both look a gen behind. It actually reminds me of when I looked at PS2 games after having a PS3...

You should see the port of Crysis 1 onto the consoles. It looks like *** compared to Ultra on PC. Even with the arguably better lighting engine Cryengine 3 provides. Then again they had to go crazy with the bloom to hide all the corners they had to cut to get the game playable on the XBox 360. Low poly models and low res textures abound!

Oh god.... I don't even want to see it lol. The only games on PS3 right now that don't look god awful are:

-Killzone 3 (Though the lack of enough AA is getting to me)

-Battlefield 3 (Though the textures are eghh sometimes)

-Uncharted 3 (Still looks decent lol! GG Naughty Dog)

Of coarse Metro, Crysis, and BF3 on ultra still beast them... 😉
