i just bought new mobo and cpu. i would like to do someting useful with the old ones old cpu and mobo: amd phenom ii x4 965 be overclocked to 4.0 and asus m4a785td-v evo
anyone got good ideas?

If you want to sort of use it for something else or perhaps another gaming PC just put it together normally as another computer and buy a cheap graphics card, and you can also use the 2nd pc for ultility or misc things.

Then I will advice to don't overclock your cpu as you will have a threat to fry your components. ....
