Does anyone know anything about Powerex PSUs?

I mentioned in an earlier thread that I'm trying to figure out the PSU for my first build. The problem though is that the most well known PSU brands (Corsair, Seasonic) are very difficult to find in the country I live (S. Korea).

What they do have here, however, is Powerex. This is a native Korean manufacturer, and though they're unheard of in the West the seeem to be the standard PSU here, but I'm unsure about putting one of the units in my build without knowing a bit more about them. Does anyone know about them? Are they reliable? I figure that as Korea is pretty much the home of PC gaming they must know a thing or two about PSUs, but this pretty much the only thing I can say in their favour.

The only review I found was in chinese (for the Powerex Xfactor REX-850AS) the PSU did get a passing review but it does qualify itself by stating, "...this power can be a cost-effective choice, but can not be called a good power supply..." - seems voltage regulation and ripple/noise are concerns on that particular unit. You may have Antec or SuperFlower available as alternatives... anything along those lines?

Yep. Super Flower and Antec are available here. Also a brand called Mirconics. Thanks for your info. I think it's better to avoid the Powerex.

Hi - go with Superflower or Antec if you can afford to do so.

Thanks. There are also a few online retailers that are selling the Corsairs, though they're a bit pricey. I might just go with them.

Your choice, but I wouldn't spend more to get a Corsair then a Superflower if
they are in the same hierarchy of quality. Superflower is the only one of your
three choices that actually makes PSU's. Corsair and Antec have their PSU's
built by someone else.

However, you might find Corsair to offer a longer warranty. If you can afford to do so
go above the brands budget level series; TX, HX, or AX with Corsair.
Golden Green or Golden King with Superflower,
