I just obtained an Arris MEB1100 MoCA adapter on Ebay and I'm using it to bridge the coax input from my Frontier fiber ONT to my Google Nest router which doesn't take coax. All is mostly working fine but I lose internet occasionally (once per day) that, so far, I've been able to resolve simply by cycling the power on the Arris device. This leads me to conclude that it may have a software problem that can be resolved by a firmware update. On the other hand, I know this is a simple device and it might not even have firmware or might not support updates. Anyone know? Thanks.

I would not think you would need to update the firmware much on a moca adapter.

I know you can update gocoax boxes but I never upgraded the ones I had....and are now in some box in the garage.

From what I can tell these device are kinda owned by frontier/verizon and given to customers. It appears they do not ask for them back at the end of the contract. If these are like arris cable modem they provide support only to the large ISP so even if there was some way to log into the box and if it has a firmware update option I doubt you can get a firmware image.

I got mine from Ebay. ;) I just wanted to get rid of the really old router Verizon gave me way back before the account was sold to Frontier as it was only being used as a MoCA adapter. I'm thinking of going to the next service speed level with Frontier, assuming they will replace the router or let me replace it, but my current service is fast enough so I've held off doing it. I can do 4k streaming in my small household so that's fine for now.
