Does Asus P6T LGA1366 MOBO support xeon E5640

Then you are appropaching this completely wrong, my friend. Add whicever GPU you had in mind to this setup and you are set. This i3 will wipe the floor in gaming with a xeon E5640, ever if you overclock that to 4.5-5 Ghz. There is always a point of abruptly diminishing returns with overclocking old hardware for gaming because of teh cost of teh motherboards that can overclock and gaming's dependence on single threaded performance(hence teh need to overclock). Now, if you were building a server, sure, a 6 years old multi core Xeon is an absolutily excellent choice :)

My last system was a q6600. While it served me very well for many years, the single threaded performance on that generation will just not cut it. Even with heavy overclocks. Do yourself a favour. Having a weak CPU is alot worse than having a weak GPU. In the latter case, one just needs to cut down on some settings, whereas if the CPU doesn't cut it, there's pretty much nothing you can do. And teh low FPS cpupled with heavy stuttering makes everything literally unplayable.

I found pretty good deals on ebay and amazon and for 173$ I found a Xeon E5450, a LGA 775 Gigabyte motherboard with P31 chipset, LGA771 to 775 adapter, 8gbs (4x2) 800mhz ddr2 ram, and a gtx 750, I already have PSU and Case so let's hope it works

Nah man!
Those are just too old tech. Look for "dell i3" on ebay.
You can get an i3 2xxx, 3xxx or even 4xxx for under 200. WAY better:

Not for gaming it's not. You said this was for gaming, no? Even a 2nd gen i3 will wipe the floor with it.
I told you i had a Q6600 overclocked to 3.2Ghz. Same architecture but 200Mhz faster then the E5450. Trust me, it's not a really good CPU.. anymore.
Well, unless all you do is browse teh web and run office.

Yet it will perform very similarly clock per clock. It wasn't like it was underperforming "a little" 4 years ago when i ditched it. Gaming was a joke.
Whatever, man, do your thing. I've done my civil duty and warned you :)
