does better tv = better graphics

Solution
Better is about more than resolution.
Comparing TVs, a Samsung next to a Sonic or other budget brand is like night and day. Colors are better and contrast is better.
If you are looking at this as a computer display for games, response time is important too. TVs have complex processing of the video signal to try and improve your TV image. This introduces a delay. Computer monitors are better for games.
For resolution, your card can output 4K but isn't fast enough to run a graphically intensive game at this resolution. Stick to 1920x1080 or 2560x1440.
well i got a tv that goes up to 1080p but recommends 720p its a 40 inch
i got a gtx 970 which im pretty sure the graphics will go up to like 4k or the resolution
but the tv i got only goes up to 1080p

That kind of answer is subjective. For me 1080p is just fine and others want to flaunt their e-penis and show off their 4K panel or to max out their computer.

Go to a brick-and-mortar store and try to compare the difference between 1080p and 4K. The difference is pretty dramatic in some instances, but if it's nothing to you then you should be fine sticking to 1080p until at least 4K screens come down to a more reasonable price.

i just read somewhere on the web that gaming at 60fps on ultra hd or 4k gaming will probably require two sli gtx 970 together fuk that crap im not buying another gtx 970 and a gaming monitor that like atleast another 1000$ for alll that lolz nevermind im happy wit 1080p on ultra with any game
