Does Chipset Affect Performance?

Hi everyone,
As the title suggests,does the chipset affect system performance?
I got a B75 Mobo as i was on a budget.If i had got something like Z77 then would i have seen a performance boost in app loading,boot times,gaming,etc? Notice that i am not talking of features like usb 3.0,Sata 6 gbps,etc(Which my mobo already has)

No a new chipset doesn't give extra performance.....it just gives you some extra set of features....
