I recently ordered a new PSU since my old one almost fried both my systems so I did what any sensible paranoid human being does and dissasembled the pc in order to pack everything nicely in their original boxes that we all keep forever, right? In my defense they did tell me it'd take like 3 days to ship it so I thought I'd take extra care of my puppy.

Luckily, it only took 7 days to arrive and now that the new toy is here I went straight to work and put everything back together. Not like that's something to brag about nowadays, lego's more difficult. Besides, I did the bare minimum just to test the thing, a seasonic focus gx 650w. Surprisngly light and small, compared to my now retired PSU. 2 cables, some ghetto cooling, the display hdmi and... nothing. The fan spins up and slows down. A bad sign in most cases but considering how catastrophically my previous seasonic could've failed this is great news. I press the button and it shuts down, something that wouldn't happen while testing the other one. Fantastic!

So I go through the checklist, plug and replug every unplugged plug that HAS to be plugged. Except the RAM, that doesn't plug but it doesn't hurt to swap it around in its slots for half an hour like a lunatic. Desperation is settling in. "The [language] doesn't post. It's clearly burned, the mobo is barely 2 months old. The mobo is busted, cpus are way too resilient. I can't believe seasonic makes such garbage products, I got scammed! It's gotta be the damn zippers, musta busted a bolt!"
Had I had just a little bit more balls or disposable income I would've thrown something at a wall. But I enjoy procrastinating and house repairs seem counterproductive to that goal. At this point in time, madness started creeping in. I would scour the deepest depths of the second page of google, to no avail.

"Screw it, it's getting late" I told myself earlier. "Might aswell stuff this crap in there and deal with it tomorrow". So I did. I plugged the audio jack in. The hdd, ssd, kb and mouse, and just so I would sleep soundly, I pressed the power button.
I never thought I could feel so lost. But here I was, staring at a black screen, leds all lit up, kbm as if taunting me, when suddenly, out of [language] nowhere... the chime. The [language] windows chime blasts through the house and straight into my soul. I was dumbfounded. I never in my life felt so lost. So lost in my own ignorance.

I do not know why and I do not know how. Well, I kind of remembered why afterwards. Before commiting to the purchase I reset the CMOS, hoping for one last hurrah.

But I do not know how, or what in the living [language] made my display not work during the post. The pc IS working, I shut it down with Win+X then U then U after the os chime hit me like a truck.
So, here we arrive at the question that's been eating at my essence for the past 3 hours: Does clearing the CMOS reset anything in regards to HDMI display from the integrated graphics? Am I stupid? Should I stop writing novels about menial issues? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated. This was not a joke, but a serious cry for help, I feel retarded.
