Hi, some new PC parts I ordered online just arrived today. As I was about to put everything in I realised I forgot thermal paste. My local store has CoolerMaster MasterGEL Maker Nano and I’ve seen that it performs quite well but I’ve also seen some people saying it scratches their die due to the micro particles of diamond. I was wondering whether I should get that or the regular CoolerMaster MasterGEL to be safe. Thanks for any help you can give!

Solution
Delided is when you take the metel top off of a cpu in order to get better thermals.

Your ryzen 5 2600 will not get functionally damaged by the thermal paste.
Are you using a delided cpu without an internal heat spreader?
Otherwise, the die is not exposed and cannot be scratched.
Hi, thanks for the reply! I’m not sure what delided means sorry, but it’s an AMD Ryzen 5 2600. So if it’s not delided then it’s safe to use even if it does scratch?

Also this is off topic but is isopropyl alcohol fine for cleaning PC parts? Just wanna wipe down some hard to get places while the PC is open.
