[SOLVED] Does Core i7-950 3.07 bottleneck a GTX 970?

I want to upgrade my GPU but I don't want to bottleneck whatever GPU i end up buying, i am probably going for a 970 or a 980, but will my CPU bottleneck the performance?

I think that GPU will work great with that CPU.

I ran an i7-920 with a GTX 1060....this is similar to what you're trying to do....they worked great together.

Depends on the game and your resolution but I think a 970 is a good choice if your gaming at 1080P.

I upgraded the i7-920 to an i7-980 and replaced the GTX 1060 with a GTX 1080 and the i7-980 and GTX-1080 work great together as well.

Definitely, especially if it's paired with a good motherboard, cooling & is overclocked.

At the time I was looking at the i7-9XX CPU's but ended up going with the AMD Phenom X4 965 due to my budget and it's still going strong with a R9 290 at my friends house. Ended up overclocking the CPU to 3.8ghz and still games pretty good on newer titles (around 50-60 FPS).
