Does Corsair Vengeance RGB Memory's RGB feature work without Aura Sync?

My motherboard is an Asus Pro Gaming Z170. It has no Aura Sync capability. I am currently looking at the Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM kit from Amazon because my old kit died. Will I be able to use the RGB of the RAM through Corsair Link without Aura Sync? What is a kit of RAM that you recommend for a really cheap price? (no Newegg, they don't accept my Paypal). Currently there are the following options:

G.Skill 4x4GB 3200mhz kit for 207 dollars
G.Skill Trident Z 2x8gb (non rgb) 3000mhz for 200 dollars
Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB RGB 2666mhz for 205 dollars.

You don't need Aura Sync for either RAM kits, you can use Corsair Link for Corsair RGB RAM and "Trident Z RGB Control" from G.Skill to control their RAM kits.

The 4x4GB models do look better, however 2x8GBs allow you to upgrade to 32GB of memory in the future and put slightly less load on the memory controller so there is a slightly better chance of your RAM hitting their rated speeds.
