Does Crossfire distribute load evenly?

I have 2 5450's in crossfire (I know it's a bit ridiculous, Kind of a long story)

I am noticing a ton more heat coming off of one card than the other. Is this typical, where it uses 1 card to max then the other, or should it distribute the load evenly?

Mostly, you'll find the load is fairly evenly distributed, when crossfire is in use. Crossfire is only in use when you are gaming in fullscreen mode.

You also have to consider if both cards can get fresh air. With your motherboard, I assume it can, but if you are using a slot between the cards for something else, the top card will likely suffocate.
