Does ddr2 ram fit any motherboard?

I own a gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P and am looking to get ram which the board takes ddr2, i read online people saying ddr2 will fit in any ddr2 motherboard yet my ram slots have a line i the middle to slide the ram over yet some ram i look at it seems like the open space is more to the right or left rather then in the middle, So does any ddr2 ram fit?

Yes. Any DDR2 1066/800/667 will work with your motherboard.

Basically any DDR2 DIMM's will fit.

However, whether these DIMM's are electrically compatible (with the motherboard) is another matter. Check with memory manufacturers and check the motherboard memory QVL for compatible memory.
