Hi! I want to know if I can plug a Dell t5500 cpu riser in a Dell t7500. I have another question. Can I fit a Dell t7500 PSU in a t5500. I am having auto reboot and blue screen every 3 or 4 hours after I installed msi gforce gtx 970 gaming graphic card. I think the two 6-pin pcie cable ( rated 75W each) from the t5500 PSU does not have enough amperage to drive the 970 graphic card. The two 6-pin pcie cable (rated 150W each) from the t7500 PSU should be able to drive the 970 card.

The t5500 and t7500 CPU risers are different part numbers and have different power requirements. So unlikely they are interchangeable.

Know that the t7500 case is a lot larger, in every dimension, than the t5500 (see image link below). The PSU is much longer too. Highly doubtful it could be made to fit the t5500.

The t5500 has two 6-pin PCIe connectors, each supplied by it's own 18-amp rail. More then enough to power that card. They are not capped at 75w. So I doubt that is the cause of your issues. Being a used workstation, no telling what your PSU has been through. May simply be worn out.

The reason I suspected the two 6-pin pcie cable does not supply enough wattage after I took a power cable from the 2nd CPU riser and re pinned them and connected to the 8-pin connector on the card and now the computer have not reboot or have blue screen so far. I went to Dell website and it said the PSU from t7500 is compatible with t5500 and the only difference is that the t7500 PSU is 2 inches longer, the height and width are the same dimensions. So there is just enough room between the drive bay and the PSU for the cable. I ordered a t7500 PSU (Dell part # 0G821T) from eBay for $35US with free shipping.
