pretty much as the heading says. I'm wondering if the new setting for Dolby Atmos Headphones in Windows 10 works with regular headphones to give you surround sound. I know that they can produce a simulated Dolby Atmos sound for Dolby Atmos video files on regular headphones, and I know that there are only a couple of games that have Dolby Atmos, but will non-Dolby Atmos games at least play with a 'surround' effect, something like Razer's Surround (which hasn't been updated since 2013 🙁 )

From reading Dolby website they say "Works with any stereo headphones" which tells me since the headphones are stereo and faking surround anyways that any game not using Dolby-Atoms is going to stereo.

If you actually have a pair of surround 5.1 o 7.1 headphones (which are very rare to find as almost all are fake), than unless the software that comes with the headphones have a surround effects option for stereo, it will be in stereo.

yes, I know it works with any stereo headphones. So does Razer Surround. Pretty well all headphones, including ones that are labeled 7.1, are stereo with simulated 7.1 through software. I'm curious if the Dolby Atmos Headphones setting within Windows 10 will do the same thing - simulate Dolby Atmos Headphones with any sound, or if it needs to actually be an Atmos audio file.
