Hey
Im planing to get new PC parts but RAM is very expensive at the moment.
So I was thinking about buying 8GB now and another 8GB later.
When looking for RAM I noticed RAM sticks sold in dual channel kits have other product numbers (example: http://eu.crucial.com/wcsstore/CrucialSAS/pdf/product-flyer/ballistix/productflyer-crucial-ballistix-sport-lt-ddr4-de.pdf).
Are the "single" sticks still able to run in dual channel when I buy a 2nd exact same stick later put it in the right slot and enable dual channel in the BIOS? Or must it be modules which are marked as dual channel modules?

Solution
RAM sticks are just sticks.
the multi channel is a memory controller property (part of CPU these days).
The kits are just two plain sticks that were tested to work together.
Most ram sticks with the same specs (frequency, voltage, timings and physical layout) will work together anyway.
