[SOLVED] Does Fan Shroud on AMD Wraith Cooler Do Anything?

Hello. Recently I have thought about buying a new kit of RAM for my Ryzen 2600 build. However, I noticed that the AMD logo on the fan's protective/decorative shroud blocks me from removing the ram and replacing it. I know that it is possible to remove just the shroud part that has the logo on it, however I am wondering if the shroud does anything for airflow or cooling performance. I assume not, and am very sorry if this is common knowledge. Thank you for reading this far and have a good day!

it helps preventing air to escape to the side, if temps are low under load (compared to max allowed) i wouldnt worry.

Thank you for responding. My fans usually are not audible through my headphones when playing games like Tom Clancy's The Division and others. I will do some testing to make sure the temps are not high. Thank you once again!

If you can dremel away the area thats in the way, so you can leave it mounted.
Or get one of those thick paper sheets from an office store,
and cut a strip that you put in its place.
