Firstly apologies for re-creating a thread, but the original question went in a completely different direction (Is my FX 6300 overheating?)
I recently made a new system:
AMD FX-6300
MSI 970 GAMING
AMD Radeon R9 270X
Kingston 4,096 MB DDR3 1866
Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3.9600)
Room Temp: 22C-25C
But the system stays steadily at 70C+ temperatures with stock settings, stock cooler at nominal workloads. I realised that if I turn off the turbo core technology it's stays smoothly below 70C at high workloads - I just want to know if this is normal. My bios had turbo-core and cool-n-quiet on by default - Which is why the question.
I have already tried re-applying the thermal paste. Ventilation is also decent (120mm front-intake, 120mm side-intake, 120mm rear-exhaust). I am all for going for a custom cooler and all, but what I really want to know is if this is normal.
