I can't turn on sidebanding on my asus v7100
the option is greyed out on powerstrip
does this card support it?

If you poke around on the ASUS download site, you can find a file that will do this. However, ASUS strongly recommends against this due to stability issues and negligible improvement. Or, you can go to www.geforcefaq.com for a file to enable sidebanding.

as far as I know
Sideband is now useless on Geforces since they use a newer mode called AGP Pipeline (i am not 100% sure)

but from my memory, Sideband only makes your card less stable (after overclocking) and does not give noticable difference on geforces

I believe you're referring to Fast Writes, a known cause of instability.

Using AGP sidebands should not be a problem to the best of my knowledge
