[SOLVED] Does GPU MOSFETS need thermal padding?

So I have this dead GPU and I found out the reason was a blown MOSFET. I discovered that there was no thermal padding on the heatsink covering the MOSFETs and so I wondered if that's why the MOSFET blew up? So in conclusion, do MOSFETs need thermal padding or not?

Depends on the GPU I think.
Try finding a disassembly of that card, or atleast the same gpu.

Maybe a waterblock installation instruction will have the same info.
