does GTX 770 Gigabyte worth upgrading from AMD 7970 sapphire?

recently a friend of mine offered me that I sell my 7970 to him, and said i only need 50$ to add to it and buy a new gtx 770 gigabyte which is true, but im really satisfied with my current Card and can play all the recent game without any problem, its just the heating of this Card which hit 70-75 utmost
(donno about 770 gigabyte's heat with its three fans)

im struggling whether to buy it or not, i've 4770K thats another factor, y'know intel-nvidia
pls help me if im wasting time or its good for an upgrade
plus i've some money for getting 780 too, but thats alot money to add
i really need s1's help

Meh, you'll only get about another 10-20 fps depending on the game, makes more sense to just OC the 7970, save your money, especially if your satisfied with the performance.

First-off those temps aren't that bad. The 770 may be a little cooler it has TDP of 20W less than the 7970. Take the 50 bucks and reassess your cooling situation or create a custom fan profile for the GPU

In my opinion, wait around for the next desktop GPU release and see what shakes out

I would not do that. That's closer to a sidegrade than a upgrade. Plus, if you're an avid player of BF4, then you may even get better FPS than him.

And even still you have mantle coming which will support 79xx series GPU's.

Don't upgrade, it's a waste of your money. Wait until the newer 800 series from nVidia comes out, that's when your graphics card will show it's age, and if you want to upgrade, then do so then.
