Hi all, basically I lost my phone and decided it was gone forever, I took the usual steps through the android find my phone and erase, blocked the IEMI and sim.

Just wondering if someone were to find this and take it to a dodgy phone shop to get it unblocked, would the process (if anyone is aware of it) wipe the phone to factory settings (deleting all data)?

Thanks in advance

Solution
An IMEI 'block' only stops a phone being used on a network, and has nothing to do with the data on it.

A dodgy shop cannot remove an IMEI block, as that's at a carrier/database level.

Your security/password is what is there to protect your data - and you should be able to wipe the data remotely via your Google account. ,
