[SOLVED] Does intel core i7 8750H processor support DDR4 2400 Mhz ram instead of 2666 Mhz ram

I have a broken laptop from which was purchased in 2017 (asus fx553vd) with intel core i7 7700hq processor. It came with 1 single 2400mhz ddr4 8gb stick. Before my laptop broke, I had upgraded it to 16gb of ram by installing 2 ram sticks of 8gb 2400mhz ddr4.
Now I bought a new laptop with intel core i7 8750h processor. It comes with a single stick of 8gb ddr4 2666mhz ram. Is it possible to reuse my broken laptops 2400mhz ram (both sticks) in my new laptop (core i7 8750h) to get a total ram capacity of 16gb?

Yes they should, and worst case they don't work and you sell them on ebay. What is the model for the new laptop with the 8750?

It may or may not work, memory is finicky which is why it's sold in kits. If it does work all the memory will run @2400mhz as it goes by the slowest stick however it's not really a big deal as memory speeds make little difference with Intel.
