MY question is that I'm looking forward to upgrading my ram,Can I use two individual sticks of 8gb ram and would they work ?
I can't go for straight 16gb so I'll buy a single stick of 8gb right now and then another later
(Note I can't find 16gb DDR3 in my country and cannot import online)

~Best regards

'I'll buy a single stick of 8gb right now and then another later'

To the OP, this is never a great idea. You may not be able to get two DIMMS with same timings, voltage etc. This can cause compatibility issues. It's always advised to buy a matched kit i.e 2 x 4gb or 2 x 8gb or whatever.

You may be able to get two different DIMMS to work together but it can be very tricky.

@ Crazily, maybe look at google and see what ' Is it good to mix ram DIMMS together' brings up in search results and have a read through! A refresher off sorts! :)

I've never had any problems with this though I've done this on my ddr3 computer. A windows 98 machine and a windows xp laptop. Generally it'll work more often if you put the slower stick in the first ram slot because the second stick will be matched to the slower speed. Even the xp laptop did that (I was surprised)

Ah, i agree. sometimes they will work, and will only work at the lowest common denominator. It's just not always a great idea, specially if one isn't familiar with ram timings and voltages etc.

I'd always recommend buying a kit. Problem is with DDR3, those kits are nearly as expensive as newer DDR4. I'd suggest when the time comes, the OP sells his current ram to offset the costs of a new 2 x 4 or 2 x 8 kit. Second hand is always on option too, but I hate buying second hand stuff.
