does intel driver utility work offline?

There's an Intel "Update" utility but the one I'm thinking of compares online.

*It's really not important because:

1) A fresh Windows installation should have no problems connecting via Ethernet anyway, and

2) Updating the drivers can then be done via the Intel site or the Intel update utility.

That wasnt the case with my last hp pc i revived, maybe because it was amd. I had to install drivers for the Ethernet to work.

Weird, last time I had to do that was Windows XP and I've built a lot of AMD and Intel setups over the years. Every one had working Ethernet though some had DUAL Ethernet where one was NVidia and one Intel and only the Intel connector worked.

Anyway, he'll find out. Worse case scenario is you:
a) Find motherboard exact model name
b) Go to support site for that model
c) Find and download Ethernet driver (probably in a package with chipset)
d) Install
e) Optional: go to Intel site, download Intel Update Software to PC and let it scan/download/install updates, then
f) Install Video and other drivers/software...
