Question Does it damage the graphics card to play a game you do not meet the requirements?

I have a Nvidia 650 1GB graphics card. In this case I am playing Watch_Dogs 2, which requires at least a 2GB 660. I get a solid 50-60 fps despite the game telling me it is using 1409 mb of VRAM from the 900-ish my GPU can offer.
Where does it get that VRAM from? And most importantly, does it damage the graphics card?

worst case scenario is that you will get errors that your hardware is not supported and cannot install the game(s).

usually you will just have low in-game performance; low frame rates, texture pop-in, etc.

Where does it get that VRAM from?

some systems will share some system RAM with the GPU so it may be reading the GPU's VRAM along with some system RAM.
