Does it fit?

I'd like to use the internal hard drive of my old PC for my new one. My old PC is in a low profile casing and I wonder if this would fit, or they have a different size as with graphic cards, due to the smaller casing.

Also, could I also skip having to buy a new Windows if I used my old hard drive?

Thanks,

Jef

Desktop hard drives are a standard size (3.5 inches) so I don't think you'll have any issues using your old hard drive in new PC.

Forget any notion of using the Windows that's already installed on it though. If the OS was pre-installed by the PC manufacturer, it's not transferable to another PC under the terms of the Microsoft OEM Licence Agreement. Also, for technical reasons, I doubt it would even be able to start on totally different hardware whether it's OEM or not.

So you will have to buy Windows installation media for your new PC.
