Question Does it matter if I exposed some copper around a CPU cooler mounting hole?

Installed a mount screw a bit too tightly and there is like 1/3 of a circle of copper showing around one of the holes. It doesn't cross any traces and the system works fine. Motherboard is the B450 Tomahawk MAX. Should I be concerned about this or should I just leave it?

I think most likely what you are looking at is a ground conductor (because many times...MBs use the standoffs as a ground)...and if it is...you don't have anything to be concerned about.

If the system works fine I would leave it alone.
I think there's a good chance it's what I think it is.

Thanks for the pic.
That's a ground pad.
Many times they put ground pads by the standoffs.
It sure isn't a trace.

Looks normal. I don't think you caused it.
It was there before you even did anything.
