Does it matter in what slot i put it in?

Solution
do as the first guy told you hes right

''(Note 3) For optimum performance, if only one PCI Express graphics card is to be installed, be sure to install it in the PCIEX16 slot.

now AMD cards will run at x4 in a x-fire configuration so you could use the other slots but why if not doing x-fire --ou want the full x16 on a single / primary card

if you read the notes from your boards link I gave you see it steps down sharing of the slots bandwidth

bottom line is why limit the card and cut your slots bandwith ??

unlike a 990fx that has 2 slots at full x16 [that's all part of chipset limitations ]

not really for that board. But some boards like mine only have PCIE2.0 and the top one runs faster then the bottom one. Some boards do matter, but for your board it doesn't. if you don't know, just always put in top slot for safe measure
