does it matter what ethernet cord i should get?

None, they're all pretty much the same.

In theory, to use 1Gb ethernet you should get a CAT6 ethernet cord, but for short distances any quality CAT5E cord will work.

Edit: the e-1000 router doesn't support Gigabit ethernet so any cord will work.
