does it slow down an SSD to partition it?

I understand that a bigger SSD is faster.
I have a 250 GB SSD
I would like to have a 100 GB second partition on the SSD, for my virtual machines. This is because I make a daily, incremental system image of the main partition. And every time the VMs change, it makes a major difference in the system image. So if I move the VMs to a separate partition, it will solve that problem.
But will this affect the speed of my SSD?

can't you ignore that folder on the image making system?
and no it won't hurt.

I dont think you will notice any difference,partitoning affects speed only hdd's.An ssd will have the same speed with-without partitions.

Number of partitions won't affect the speed at all.

@13th monkey: excluding a folder is a great idea, I wish I could figure out how to do it in Macrium Reflect paid edition. I only see that option for file and folder backups, not for a system backup. However, it's easy to exclude a partition.
