Does it support Display port?

I noticed this samsung monitor has a DVI and RGB input
Till I get a new graphic card I am using the integrated one from the motherboard which has a display port I am now trying to use a display port to dvi cable which seems not be working .
Does this mean I have to get a dvi to DP cable or what ?
And will I need the other cable (display port to dvi )in the future when I purchase a new GPU
I don't really get the male to male or female input or output can anyone help ??

Regarding the Male to Male/Female: Male is the part of the cable that sticks out (For example, in an HDMI cable that has Male/Male, the HDMI sticks out so that you can put it inside a Female one). Imagine it like a penis (sounds funny and weird but that's the reason behind the name). The female is the part of the cable (Or I/O) that is used to connect the Male to the computer/TV or other devices. (For example, a Laptop has Female USB ports for the Male keyboard USB ports to connect to).

About the cable. I am not sure why the Display Port to DVI doesn't work... I am guessing you have this type of adaptor, no? (https://www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-DVI-Adapter-Passive-Display-Black/dp/B0017K6BD2)

But the really annoying thing is my monitor (link above) S23B300B supports DVI-D (Dual link ) input and if i understand correctly this cable goes from display port(computer) to DVI (monitor) so what seems to be the problem ??

It doesn't really matter if it goes from DVI to DP or DP to DVI, it is the same thing pretty much.

It is true that if the cable is one-direction it cannot work. But most modern cables nowadays are bidirectional. You are 100% correct on that.

so can it be only a GPU issue ( Intel HD graphics 3000) , because it is an integrated GPU it might not be as evolved as newer GPU's ??
Or does this cable indeed go from Display port( computer /GPU) to DVI-D ( monitor)

It is true that if the cable is one-direction it cannot work. But most modern cables nowadays are bidirectional. You are 100% correct on that.

The only bi-directional adapters are DVI-HDMI passive adapters and DVI-VGA passive adapters. All other adapters are non-reversible.

DisplayPort to DVI adapters go from DisplayPort computer to DVI display, so your adapter should work in this case.

I did some research and found out that this cable is a passive one which means that :If the source supports dual-mode DisplayPort (also known as DP++), then you can use a passive adapter because the source can perform the conversion. If the source does not support DP++, then you need to use an active converter, which includes additional chips to perform the conversion.

Maybe my gpu is too old for a Dp++
But what if I buy an Msi gtx 1060 gaming x 6gb GPU which has 3 display ports (version 1.4)
Will it work then or will still have to buy an active display port for an extra hundred bucks ??

This is nonsense. There is no "plain DVI", there is only DVI-D and DVI-I. If a product just says "DVI" it only means they are not being specific about whether it is DVI-I or DVI-D.

DP to DVI passive adapters are for DVI-D, which can be connected to any DVI port.

Intel HD 3000 chip does support DP++. Active DP to DVI adapters are around $20–30 unless you need a Dual-Link adapter, for a 120+ Hz monitor.

I'm not sure, everything sounds right, so it should be working. Did you select the DVI input on the monitor's menu?
