Does it worth it to get R9 290 for the next 2 years?

Does it worth it to get R9 290 for the next 1 or 2 years? Or should I just get R9 380?

The R9 290 will last longer than the R9 380.

The 290 is stronger than the 380. Only downside I see to the 290 is that, under load, it consumes about 100W more than the 380, and the 290 generates more heat that needs to be kicked out.

What is the price difference? If you asked simply which one to get I'd say the 290.

290 still perform above 380. So it you want something that will last longer 290 is better choice.
