Does larger hard disk need high-end SMPS?

I am using a 1TB hard disk with regular SMPS. If I am not wrong, then my SMPS is 400W.

I plan to attach another 2TB internal hard disk on the same PC.

According to one of the shop-keeper, its good to have high-end SMPS for large hard drives. Is it true?

Need an expert opinion. Please advice.

Regardless of size, hard disks use 12 watts or less or power. And no, you do not need high power PSUs for high capacity hard disks. Your shop keeper is totally mistaken.

I think that your vendor wants to make an extra sale.
