Does LGA1151 = LGA115X?

Hi, all,

I'm planning on upgrading to a 6700K when I can finally buy one, which is marketed as an LGA1151 socket.

I have a CPU cooler (Coolermaster V8 GTS) which has mounting brackets for LGA 1150/1155/1156.

I THINK the way that Intel does it, is that 1151 bracket should be the same as the others mentioned above, and would be considered an LGA115X socket/bracket.

Wanted to run this past people who are more into PCs than I am, confirm if I'm being dumb or not, or coming to the correct conclusion.

CPU coolers designed for the LGA 1150 / 1155 / 1156 sockets are compatible with the LGA 1151 socket. You should double check the cooler's specs just to make sure.

The mounting holes are identical on LGA1150, LGA1151, LGA1155 and LGA1156.
