Question Does memory CL matter?

On a Crosshair VII, does memory with CL14 or CL16 make any difference. The MB website supports both types. Obviously CL14 is a more expensive but I would break the bank if it matters.

All other factors being the same, you will not notice a radical difference between the two.

Depends on what you do. If you run memory intensive apps, they matter. For games mostly they don't.

Can you give examples of intensive apps please? Home Video editing?

Running a RAM disk, buffering a huge number of videos, virtualizing several Operating Systems simultaneously, multiple instances of hires video rendering or transcoding, compiling an Operating System and Desktop Environment while doing any of the above....
